This map shows where people lack access to safe drinking water as of 2020. You can notice regions like North America and Europe are mostly clear, indicating widespread access. However, large areas of Africa and Asia are deeply shaded, representing millions without this essential resource.

Looking at this pie chart, it's clear that our oceans are getting hit from many places. 30% of ocean pollutants come from sewage. Then, there's farm runoff and even air pollution each contributing 20%. Industrial wastewater and shipping add another 10% each. Basically, a lot of what ends up in our oceans starts on land, emphasizing how crucial it is to better manage our waste and what we put into our environment.

This graph shows how our global freshwater use has shot up since 1900, nearing 4 trillion cubic meters by 2014. While it doesn't directly shout Pollution!, this massive increase in water demand for farming, factories, and homes means we're putting immense pressure on our water sources. The more we use the greater the challenge of keeping it clean from all the waste and runoff comes with it.
